MOTORISTS search online for deals on Vehicle Upkeep
MOTORISTS find better prices on car upkeep as more and more car owners use the web to find reputable motor traders offering cheap rates or deals on their servicing and repairs.
Research carried out by mycarneedsa.com, a price comparison site where local garages can quote to carry out MOT’s, servicing and repair work, shows a heavy surge of motorists going online to find the cheapest rates for providers.
The research also shows a higher take up on people having maintenance carried out on things such as breaks, timing belts and types. Something many motorists often leave until it goes wrong OR becomes illegal.
The site also records an average increase of 76% year on year.
Scott Hamilton, managing director of MyCarNeedsA.com, said: ‘More and more consumers are using websites like ours to save time, money and hassle when booking their cars in for maintenance and repair, whether it’s brakes, bulbs, clutches, cambelts or regular servicing.
‘It is estimated that motorists spend a collective £21.1 billion a year on servicing and repair and the online comparison market is growing rapidly. There is a huge opportunity for MOT and servicing providers to boost their income by extending their reach online, by partnering with us.’
The site now works with more than 4,000 traders and garage nationwide. All motor traders have to pass a thorough vetting process before being allowed to advertise on the site and must use genuine parts or customer vehicles.
